The Initiatives of Change Center for Governance (ICCfG), Coimbatore is a pioneering urban think tank established in 2008. With cross-disciplinary expertise, we focus on addressing urban challenges through innovative solutions in urban governance, service delivery, capacity building, and technical assistance. Our mission is to envision sustainable and inclusive urban development, enable effective governance, and empower decision-makers to create resilient, equitable cities.

The programme aimed at creating a network among city leaders in Asia and provide a platform for peer-to-peer learning in key areas of urban governance such as integrated master planning, sustainable environment, water management, greening, land management, housing, transport, infrastructure financing, smart city development and resilience.

On January 28, 2023, ICCFG, in collaboration with Coimbatore Smart City Limited, organized a seminar on “Mobility and Transport Planning” at Hotel Taj Vivanta. The event, held in partnership with CEPT University and ITDP, focused on non-motorized transport and mass rapid transit systems.
On November 27, 2023, a two-day workshop was held at the PSG Institute of Management Conference Hall, Coimbatore. Facilitated by international expert Mr. Lawrence Philbrook, the workshop aimed to review ongoing infrastructure projects, identify gaps, re-envision the city’s needs, and develop strategies for effective and inclusive development.
Singapore Leaders in Urban Governance event was conducted by Temesek & CLC Singapore. The Mayor, Commissioner of & Baskar Srinivasan, Technical Advisor, Coimbatore City municipal Corporation participated and received commendations.
